Blancmange was a short-lived electronic phenomenon that brought a wealth of talent to the 80's synth-pop scene.
It was comprised of two members, Neil Arthur (vocals, guitar) and Stephen Luscombe (keyboards), who met at London Art College. They formed a recording duo in 1979 and made three successful albums before breaking up in 1986.

The Chameleons - and in particular Mark Burgess - created a host of incredible post-punk music during the 80's. Burgess stormed that period with an immeasurable talent for songwriting that evoked (and still does) an array of deeply felt emotions and clear visuals. This is yet another feeble attempt to capture a bit of that powerful imagery.

Telekon is a treasure trove of early Numan music. This particular song has emotion-driven lyrics that lend themselves well to the haunting, synth-based melody.
Comfort food for the wounded soul. Numan doing what he does best. Me, showing my appreciation in a small way. Enjoy.

Video duration: 204 seconds

This is a delightfully disorderly song released by Gary Numan and Tubeway Army in February 1978. The pile-driving bass line plays off of Numan's punkish rant, making this song just as refreshing to listen to today as it was nearly 30 years ago.

Abecedarians was a fabulous post-punk 80's band known for their moody, expressive music. "Smiling Monarchs" stands out from the remainder of their catalogue because it is upbeat and heavy on keyboards. This is my tribute to them.

The original band called Evermore was made up of Steve Young on guitar, Jason Matthews on vocals and guitar, Alexandra Transfeld on bass and Sam Andrews on drums. This immensely talented group played in and around Brisbane, Australia in the early to mid '90's. Moody vocals and distorted guitars formed the basis of their ethereal, signature sound.

Abecedarians were a post-punk group from LA that enjoyed modest success in the mid-80's. With their moody guitar riffs and vocals, they pioneered a sound that was vastly different from the prevailing dance and synth-pop MTV environment. This is a group that should have been huge.
